Overview:
Black Prep Social is a community platform I designed for the brand-new Raleigh chapter of a social club, bringing event management, membership perks, and merchandise sales together in one experience.
Problem:
The Raleigh chapter was launching from scratch with an event already on the calendar but no way for people to learn about it or sign up. I needed the site live before that first event, giving the social club an online presence and a working sign-up system from day one.
Process:
I researched comparable social clubs, country clubs, and event-hosting organizations to see what website featured worked well and how to integrate them into the Black Prep Social site while still keeping the brand distinct. I did loose wireframing in Figma to map out flows like event browsing and RSVP.
One key design decision I made was on the social curriculum page, which showcases the club’s quarterly events. Since many of the activities are unconventional, things like disc golf, mahjong, or dragon boating, that most people can’t picture from a name alone, I chose an image-led grid system over a text list so visitors could immediately understand what an event actually was, rather than guessing.
Build:
I built the site on Squarespace, but customized it with hand-coded CSS and HTML to push past template constraints toward a modern, distinct look. I also handled backend functionality, including email list integration and custom forms.
Outcome:
I delivered fully responsive desktop and mobile versions. Since launch the site has seen a 244% increase in traffic, including 350 visits in just the first 3 days, strong validation for a brand-new local chapter with no prior online presence.

Overview:
First Heritage Realty is a realtor company website I designed to support new leadership’s vision for a more modern, unified online presence.
Problem:
The existing site was outdated and didn’t reflect the direction the new leadership wanted to take the company. There was no central hub where clients could find agent information or listings, and no real way to get in contact with the company unless you already personally knew one of the agents, which made it difficult to bring in new business.
Process:
I researched local competing realtor sites, as well as larger companies the client aspired to match in status, to identify what was working well and adapt it to fit their brand. I did wireframing in Figma to map out the structure before building.
One key design decision I made was splitting the contact forms by buyer and seller intent, which reduced friction for users, who no longer see irrelevant information depending on their goal, and also streamlined routing on the company’s end, since different team members handle buying vs selling.
Build:
I built the site on Squarespace, but customized it with CSS and HTML to push past template constraints toward a modern but unique look. On the homepage, I prioritized a location-based home search, since generating leads to buy or sell is the company’s core goal, with further filtering by price and other criteria on the listings page. I also created an agent page featuring professional photos alongside individual bios for each agent.
Outcome:
The site is set to launch soon. Based on demos shown ahead of launch, the client has expressed that the new contact flow is expected to make their process significantly smoother and improve consistency in with new leads.
